Privacy policy
The Days of Me ("we") makes personal films from family memories. Families trust us with precious and personal material, and this policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name and email address.
- Your photos, videos and recordings, and the stories and answers you and your relatives share with us.
- Details about the celebration, such as who you're celebrating, the milestone and the date.
- Basic technical data: a one-way hash of your IP address (used only to prevent abuse of the free offer), and how you found us (for example, which ad you clicked).
How we use it
- To make your free photo or your film, and to email you about it.
- To contact you about your reservation, if you joined our founding families list.
- To send occasional ideas and offers, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand which of our ads work, in aggregate.
We never sell your data. We never use your photos, films or stories in advertising or anywhere public without your written permission.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting, storage and email), AI providers that process your photos to restore and animate them (such as fal.ai), payment providers when you order a film, and Meta and Google advertising tools that measure visits from our ads. They process data on our behalf and only for these purposes.
How long we keep it
- Free photos: the photo and its results are deleted automatically 30 days after you upload it.
- Film materials: deleted 90 days after we deliver your film, unless you ask us to keep them longer. Your finished film remains yours to download and keep.
- Contact details: kept until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data, or to stop emailing you. Email hello@thedaysofme.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Residents of California and other places with privacy laws have these rights, and we extend them to everyone.
Children
Our service is for adults. Photos may include family members of any age; we use them only to make your film.
Security
Your files are stored encrypted, and links to your photos and films are private, hard-to-guess addresses. Please share them only with people you trust.
